Custard Stand Food Products owner Angie Cowger joined other “Wonder Women” from around the state at a recent event hosted by West Virginia Focus in Charleston.
The magazine recognized 2014 and 2015 Wonder Women on Oct. 19 at Holiday Inn and Suites Charleston West. The keynote speaker was Kay Goodwin, West Virginia’s Cabinet Secretary for the Department of Education and the Arts and a 2014 Wonder Woman. Angie was among the 2014 honorees. The Wonder Women are chosen by the magazine’s staff and former nominees for contributions to their communities and the state.
“It was inspiring to meet so many incredible women who are working to make our state a better place,” Angie said. “I was thrilled that Secretary Goodwin made it a point to say hello and share her memories of Webster County.”
Joining Angie at the luncheon was her daughter, Alissa Clayton, who owns The Custard Stand-Flatwoods.
