Custard Stand Food Products, owned by Dee and Angie Cowger, proudly announces it is the Official Chili of WVU Athletics.
“It’s been a banner year for us with the SHARK TANK appearance and record sales,” says Dee Cowger. “IMG pitched the WVU opportunity, and we agreed it was a smart investment since we are lifelong Mountaineer fans and know the importance of WVU Sports to our home state.”
The Cowgers signed a multi-year agreement in June. Custard Stand also is one of five exclusive “Made In West Virginia” sponsors with WVU Sports.
“While we are working hard to become a national brand and are known as America’s Tastiest chili, we remain West Virginia proud,” says Angie Cowger. “Becoming the Preferred Chili of the Mountaineers is one way of making that crystal clear.”
You can find Custard Stand Hot Dog Chili, the Official Chili of WVU Athletics, at select concession stands around the newly renovated Milan Puskar Stadium and on the menu in the suites during the 2016 Football season.
“We hope our Chili Soup with Beef and Beans will be offered later in the fall at Mountaineer Field,” says Dee Cowger. “It’s a good way to warm up when the temperatures drop.”
Mountaineer fans also will see an increased presence of Custard Stand Chili in advertising and signage during all WVU games. “We will be at the Kansas game on Nov. 5 to celebrate the partnership and to meet with fans,” says Angie Cowger.
Custard Stand Food Products will announce a major contest and special promotions throughout the school year. West Virginia University is a member of National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I. The Mountaineers have been a member of the Big 12 Conference since 2012.
