Meet lumberjack Jason Lentz at The Custard Stand-Webster Springs

Team Custard Stand will be cheering our favorite lumberjack Jason Lentz over the next two weekends as he competes in his home state of West Virginia.

Custard Stand Food Products is sponsoring Lentz on his quest to win the 2017 STIHL Timbersports Series. Click here to read the sponsorship announcement.

Lentz, 31, competes Sunday, May 21, at Morgantown’s second Pro Lumberjack Competition and Festival at Mylan Park. Click here for details on the STIHL Timbersports event.

Lentz will also compete at the 53rd annual Webster County Woodchopping Festival May 25-28 to Baker’s Island Recreation Area in Webster Springs.

During the Woodchopping Festival, he will make two appearances at The Custard Stand in Webster Springs, our flagship restaurant at 51 Main St.

  • Friday, May 26, 6-7 pm: Meet the “Prince of Lumberjacks” and get his autograph.
  • Sunday, May 28, after the awards ceremony: Lentz will be available for photos and autographs.

The festival’s theme is “Chopping Strong” in honor of the community’s resilience after devastating floods in late June 2016. It also could be the mantra of the Lentz family. Jason Lentz is a fourth generation lumberjack who lives in nearby Diana and grew up eating at The Custard Stand. His great-grandfather, grandfather, father, and mother have all had their names in The Guinness book of World Records under the heading of Timbersports. Read more about the Lentz family in this excellent story published by USA Today.

Hope to see you during the Woodchopping Festival! Stop by, meet Jason and grab an authentic WV Chili dog made with Custard Stand Hot Dog Chili.
