Custard Stand Hot Dog Chili

  1. Put your Custard Stand Hot Dog Chili in a crockpot or InstaPot on medium to low and let it simmer while you are getting everything else ready.
  2. Cook the wieners on the grill, on the stovetop, or under the broiler.
    • Grill wieners on low heat. If the heat is too high, the outside will burn and the inside will be cold. Turn your hot dogs on the grill every 2 minutes for even cooking.
    • If you wet-cook wieners, don’t boil them. Bring your cooking liquid to a simmer and cook the dogs until heated through (about 5 to 6 minutes tops).
    • PRO TIP: For flavor-infused hot dogs, take cooked wieners and add them to the simmering Custard Stand Hot Dog Chili. This is how we serve them at The Custard Stand restaurants.
  3. Place your chili and wieners in the center of your serving table and surround them with bowls of toppings.
